February 5th, 2017: Who is Worthy?

Today I finished Exodus. That was exciting. And daunting. I counted 15 “you shall” commandments from God in 16 verses concerning entering the Tabernacle. That’s quite overwhelming with detailed instruction to be Holy to enter the presence of God. Then I continued on to the Psalms (Psalm 15) and contemplated that.

Psalm 15:1

Lord, who may dwell in your sacred tent? Who may live on your holy mountain?

We aren’t Holy enough to enter the presence of God. The laws were there to demonstrate that it isn’t possible to keep all of God’s laws. We are sanctified through Christ and Christ alone. Praise Jesus that He cleanses us and makes us worthy to enter the presence of God.

Tonight I’m posting differently than my normal format. I’m going to end on a Praise Hymn that I love.

Meditate on the awesome sovereignty of God that He would find us worthy to sanctify us. Thank you, Lord.

“Jesus Paid It All”
I hear the Savior say,

Thy strength indeed is small;

Child of weakness, watch and pray,

Find in Me thine all in all.

Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;

Sin had left a crimson stain,

He washed it white as snow.

Lord, now indeed I find
Thy power and Thine alone,

Can change the leper’s spots

and melt the heart of stone.

Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;

Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow.

And when before the throne
I stand in Him complete,

Jesus died my soul to save,

my lips shall still repeat

Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;

Sin had left a crimson stain,

He washed it white as snow

Sin had left a crimson stain,

He washed it white as snow

O Praise the one who paid my debt
And raised this life up from the dead
